Dear KAREN,
Climate change isn't a distant threat, it's happening now. We can see it with our own eyes and feel its effect on our lives. We can witness its heartbreaking impacts on the birds we love.
And we can act. We
must, if we want birds to survive. Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday, and if there was ever a time when birds needed the strength of bird lovers coming together for their protection, it's now.
We still need 367 more dedicated monthly donors to rise to this Giving Tuesday challenge and earn $100,000 for birds. Can we count on you? Start your monthly gift today, and do your best for the birds you love. This summer, record-shattering temperatures in Seattle drove fledgling Caspian Terns to leap from rooftops to their deaths to escape from the scorching heat. Animal rescue workers in the Pacific Northwest were swamped with injured birds like never before. At the same time, the western U.S. endured wildfires that tore through millions of acres, leveling whole landscapes—and again, baby birds in their nests had no escape.
In isolation, any event like this would be a tragedy. But taken together with stronger storms, flooding, and other climate extremes, they're part of a pattern too dramatic—and too troubling—to ignore. For the sake of the birds we love, we must take bold, immediate action.
This is a serious challenge, but in the spirit of Giving Tuesday, we know the Audubon community can flock to meet it.
With you at our side, we'll fight for the practical, science-based solutions birds need to ease the climate crisis and help them survive.
With more than a century of conservation experience, we know what it takes to give birds a safer, more hopeful future. We can achieve it together, but there's not a moment to lose.
So please make a monthly gift today, ahead of Giving Tuesday, and do your best for birds—and help unlock an extra $100,000 in critical funds for their protection. Thank you in advance. We know that, together, we can build a better future for birds.
Sincerely,
The National Audubon Society
