At a time when we've already lost 3 billion birds in the past 50 years and two-thirds of North American species are now at increasing risk of climate extinction, the stakes couldn't be higher. And time is of the essence.
That's why Audubon has made creating and maintaining bird-friendly communities a pillar of our work. We identify which birds are threatened, which habitats are most in need of protection, and which birds will most benefit from our efforts.
Those findings then drive our efforts across all landscapes where we work, including restoring and protecting intact forests, promoting plants for birds, and advocating for bird-friendly buildings.
