Help us count birds for science!
Climate Watch is a community science program that explores how North American birds are responding to climate change. Twice a year, Climate Watch recruits volunteer bird-lovers across the country to count specific bird species to track changes in their population.

You don't need to be an expert birder to participate, but you should know how to identify target species by sight and sound or be interested in learning to do so.

Our upcoming Climate Watch survey season will run from May 15 to June 15. Join us in the fight against climate change by observing birds in your area, using our specific protocol, and helping us learn about how birds are responding to the changing climate.

How to Tell a Raven From a Crow
Rave over crows and ravens on International Crow and Raven Appreciation Day! Members of the crow family, known as the corvids, are among the smartest birds in the world. Some are capable of using tools, playing tricks, teaching each other new things, and even holding "funerals."

These black birds may belong to the same family and look similar in some ways, but several distinctive traits help set them apart. Thankfully, with our "Raven vs Crow" collection, you won't get confused next time you're in the field.

Both fun and educational, Marisol Ortega's design includes key identification tips and close-ups of the species' markers. Find it here on apparel, tote bags, and more. Soon, it'll be second nature to know the difference between a crow's caw and a raven's croak!
