Community as a Cornerstone of Conservation
Celebrate the 10th annual Latino Conservation Week by learning how Mitchell Lake Audubon Center and Latino Outdoors collaborate to support community-centered conservation.

Communities have collective power that can accomplish great things for everyone. Sharing how habitats and other natural spaces benefit both birds and people is key to activating our communities to protect birds, the places they need, and spaces we share.

In this partnership between Latino Outdoors and Mitchell Lake Audubon Center, they explore ways to foster feelings of safety and belonging in the outdoors by developing programming engaging Latino/a/x/e communities, such as bilingual bird outings.

Read on for more on this wonderful partnership centering cultura y familia—community, cultures, and families—first.
