13 new monthly donors needed to unlock $10,000
Dear KAREN,

Today is our very last giving challenge, and your last chance to join the momentum of Giving Tuesday and add to this groundswell of support for birds—to ensure they're protected not just today, not just this year, but always.

Hundreds of caring bird lovers have risen to the challenge over this past week to protect the birds we love, like the majestic Snowy Owl. But there's still $10,000 in critical funding on the line, and only a few hours left to unlock it. Will you do your best for birds and be one of the 13 new monthly donors we need before midnight tonight?

To see what it takes to protect birds and their habitats for the long term, just look north: That's where you'll find some of our most important bird havens. From pristine tundra to old-growth forests to rugged mountains, these expanses offer essential habitat to a vast array of wildlife, and a safe nesting ground for many birds—nearly 150 species in the Arctic Refuge alone.

For decades, Audubon has defended America's critical northern habitats against attempts to drill, mine, and log in the places birds need to survive. And we've succeeded. We've won safety for the Arctic Refuge, parts of the Tongass National Forest, and ecologically sensitive parts of the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska, like the Lake Teshekpuk wetlands.

These protections are hard won. And as we've seen in the past few years, they're vulnerable to anti-conservation attacks. We must fight hard to keep them—and to expand and strengthen them wherever we can, so they can't be easily challenged again.

It's up to us to stay vigilant: to protect these important places from drilling, development, and the long-term threats of climate change. And with you at our side, we can do it. With more than a century of conservation expertise, and the strength our members give us, together we'll ensure these special places are protected for the long term, for all the birds that need them.

We still need 13 new monthly donors to rise to this challenge and make sure our country's vital bird habitats are protected for generations to come. We're counting on you, KAREN, to be one of them. Start your monthly gift today, before midnight tonight, and be part of this opportunity to secure an extra $10,000 in crucial funding for the birds you love.

Sincerely,

The National Audubon Society
