Each year, its pristine wetlands and tundra host nearly 150 species from all across the U.S. No matter where you live, some of your favorite birds probably rely on the Arctic Refuge. We've fought relentlessly to keep drilling out of the Refuge, and thanks to the commitment of the Audubon community, we've succeeded—for the moment. But we can't afford to be complacent. Will you help protect our country's important bird habitats—and ALL the birds that depend on them—for the long term with a monthly gift? We still need 45 more monthly donors before midnight tonight to secure this $10,000 giving challenge, and we hope you'll be one of them. Under the Trump Administration, we came perilously close to seeing oil and gas drilling roll into the Refuge. And while we held them off, it's only a temporary reprieve. If we do nothing, the law will require another sale of leases within just three years. We can't waste this opportunity to secure strong, permanent protections for the Arctic Refuge and other essential habitats for birds. Some of our greatest shelters for birds are at risk, and between the threat of development and the reality of climate change, their safety is all too fragile.
