KAREN, the Greater Sage-Grouse is best known for the male’s spectacular courtship displays. While they once flourished across the vast sagebrush landscapes of the American West, the species has disappeared from much of its former range over the past 50 years, losing more than 50% of its population due to habitat loss from farmland conversion and overgrazing. And they’re now one of 42 Red Alert Tipping Point birds—species with perilously low populations and steeply declining trends. Their future—and the future on so many other climate-vulnerable birds—depends on what we can do together now. Will you do your best for birds in this time of crisis?
