I am teaching a few workshops this autumn that address balance, whether that is a postural or a vision issue.
In the clinic I see these imbalances all the time, and when unchecked can lead to pain and unease in the nervous system.
Our brains see the world through it's eyeballs. I know that sounds weird, but the eyes are literally outpockets of our brain.
Sometimes the 2 "outpockets" do not work well together, which can make us see double, or blurry. Dr. Bates, a Cornell Graduate, and an Opthalmologist in 1885 created a method to balance and strengthen the eyes. He felt eyeglasses were crutches and made vision worse.
Whether you are dependent on glasses or not, eye exercises definitely help with vision clarity and accuracy, something that is very useful when reaching for anything or climbing stairs for example!
Dr. Feldenkrais created a number of lessons for this purpose. On September 16th, join me online for a taste of this process. |
