Learn how Audubon celebrates LGBTQ Pride. |
Since 2016, Audubon chapters, nature centers, and sanctuaries nationwide have hosted Let's Go Birding Together events during June (and beyond) to help ensure safe spaces for LGBTQ+ people, families, and anyone who wants to enjoy an inclusive outdoor experience. We believe that extending an earnest invitation to those who may not have always felt welcome in the outdoors is essential if we are going to achieve our mission to protect birds and the places they need. Everyone who finds joy in birds is welcome at Audubon. This year for Pride, Audubon partnered with environmentalist and drag queen Pattie Gonia, on a series of videos raising awareness for our climate work and expressing our support for the LGBTQ+ community. Watch and learn more about this exciting collaboration. Audubon celebrates the diversity of the birding community in order to highlight the experiences of people who have historically been marginalized and their contributions to conservation, science, and birding. Join us in continuing to create a birding community as diverse as the natural world we aim to protect. | | | | |
