We can expand renewable energy and protect birds.
Join us Wednesday, August 23 at 6 p.m. MT to learn how you can become involved in advocating for the necessary clean energy grid of the future for birds and people. Audubon recently released our Birds and Transmission Report detailing how we can make this happen. Thanks to significant technological advances, renewable energy has become increasingly more affordable and obtainable for businesses and individual homes. That's good news for people and birds since adopting renewable energy is critical to reducing pollution, lowering global temperatures, and preserving the places we all need to survive. However, our current grid is still being prepared for a 100% clean energy future. Massive investment and expansion of our existing electric transmission grid will be required for this future to become a reality. Properly sited transmission lines can be safer for birds and are part of a responsible renewable energy future. Working with industry and local, regional, and federal decision-makers, Audubon provides important guidance on avoiding bird and wildlife impacts from renewable installations. Tune in to hear from the authors of our Birds and Transmission Report and learn how Audubon works across the West to advocate for the grid birds need. | | | | |
