Will you give climate-vulnerable birds a better chance at survival?

We're counting on you to help with an early gift.
Dear KAREN,

Birds are calling for our help—and here at Audubon, we answer their call with action. Thanks to the support of generous people like you, we've achieved incredible victories to support both birds and people.

But with two in three North American bird species now at increasing risk of climate extinction, we're counting on your continued support to ensure that familiar favorites like the Scarlet Tanager have their strongest chance to survive.

Our work only happens thanks to caring friends like you, and we're looking for 251 more supporters to join us with an early gift for Earth Day. So please, start your dependable monthly gift right away and help unlock $25,000 more for birds in need.

Dear KAREN,

Day after day, devastating news headlines like "UN climate report urges world to adapt now, or suffer later" flash across our screens. It's easy to feel helpless in the face of an emergency like this.

Birds have been telling us for quite some time that we must act on climate—and we've been listening. Thanks to generous support from people like you, we're building a more sustainable future for birds and people alike.

Audubon works with federal and local decision makers to achieve common sense solutions to climate change. We strongly endorse renewable energy. We advocate for dramatically reducing carbon emissions, maintaining healthy forests, and supporting sustainable agricultural practices.

And with your help we can achieve even more! So ahead of Earth Day, please do your best for birds: Start a monthly gift today while it will help unlock an additional $25,000 to protect birds at risk.

Last summer, we released a report that demonstrated that many of the habitats that are important to birds—including forests, grasslands, and wetlands—are also critical to reducing greenhouse emissions, given their ability to naturally store carbon.

Guided by these scientific findings, we champion climate policy goals to not only help restore these ecosystems, but to encourage innovation and research as well. This is our proven combination of sound science, focused advocacy, and expert on-the-ground conservation—forged over more than a century—at work. It benefits birds, and it helps protect the natural world we share.

It's work that's urgently needed as the world continues to warm. Right now, most North American birds are threatened by the climate crisis. Birds like the Scarlet Tanager and a staggering 389 species in total are at increasing risk of going extinct. This isn't just a distant danger, either: Three billion birds have already vanished in less than a single human lifetime.

It comes down to this, KAREN: Where Audubon works—and when you help—birds are better off. But there is so much at stake—we can and must do more.

Please be one of the 251 supporters we're counting on to make a monthly donation as we look toward Earth Day. When you do, you'll help unlock $25,000 more for birds and the places they need.

Sincerely,

The National Audubon Society
