Dear KAREN,

Today is Earth Day—a day to honor and strengthen our resolve to preserve the precious planet we all share. The theme for this year's Earth Day, "Invest In Our Planet," is one that is near and dear to Audubon.

Because birds have been telling us that we must take action on climate—and because we've listened—we're already acting to create a safer, more hopeful future for birds and for our planet. And together, we're making progress thanks to support from people like you.

Yet there's more work to be done, and that's why we're asking you to do your best for birds like the Baltimore Oriole today, in honor of Earth Day. Start a monthly gift before midnight tonight and help unlock an additional $25,000 for the birds we love.

Climate change poses an existential threat to people and birds alike. The latest report from the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change makes it clear: it's 'now or never' if our planet is to stave off climate disaster.

But if we slash emissions, protect the habitats birds need to survive, and keep global temperatures down, we can protect up to 76 percent of the species that are now threatened—saving untold numbers of birds.

Drawing on pioneering science and a century of expertise, Audubon acts on behalf of birds—and with your support, our efforts leave birds better off everywhere we work.

In September, the Biden administration restored the protections afforded to birds in the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA)—America's most important bird protection law—to levels last seen during the Obama administration. They also took it a step further by also announcing a regulatory framework for industry so that they could be compliant with the law.

Audubon has been advocating for strengthening the MBTA for years, so having the law restored to its former strength (and then some!) is a testament to what we can accomplish with the help of Audubon members like you.

Together, we're showing that where there's action, there's hope. But we can—and must—do more while there's still time. So this Earth Day, please join us with a monthly gift while it will help unlock $25,000 more for birds and their habitats. Hurry—this special offer ends at midnight tonight.

Sincerely,

National Audubon Society
