Celebrating White-throated Sparrows
Oh sweet Canada, Canada, Canada! Known for their simple yet elegant whistle, White-throated Sparrows are one of North America's most common and abundant sparrow species. Make no mistake, this sparrow may be common to backyards, but their color variation and strange genetics suggest they are anything but ordinary.

This World Sparrow Day, we're celebrating sparrows of all varieties—white, tan, red, brown, striped, spotted, and crowned. Although sparrows and their dizzying colors can confuse even the most seasoned birders, the White-throated Sparrow has a bright white throat, aiding even new birders in a confident ID.
