Golden-winged Warbler. |
|
Every spring and fall, Golden-winged Warblers undertake a perilous, nonstop journey across the Gulf of Mexico. For a bird that weighs about as much as two nickels, this 800 mile overwater crossing is a high-stakes gamble that leaves no room for error. After losing two-thirds of its population since the 1960s, the changing climate makes this a literal life-or-death situation.
If we want to ensure a brighter future for birds and their habitats, we must be steadfast in their defense—not just today, but tomorrow, too. Ahead of National Wildlife Day, please give them the protection they deserve with an annual donation today. Thanks to a group of generous donors, your first gift could be matched dollar for dollar, up to $30,000. |

The challenges birds face are immense—and yet, there is hope in action. With more than 120 years of expertise under our wing and dedicated friends like you by our side, we can create a safer future for birds and people. And truth be told, we already are. Together, we’re working closely with forest managers, farmers, and private landowners to promote sustainable practices. This includes clearing invasive plant species and cutting back vegetation along forest edges to ensure the warblers have the exact mix of shrubs and tree stands they need to breed.
This work—and all the critical work we do on behalf of birds—can only happen with the support of bird lovers like you. Can we count on you to start an annual donation ahead of National Wildlife Day? For a limited time, your first gift could be matched, up to $30,000, to protect birds like the Golden-winged Warbler year-round.
Sincerely,
National Audubon Society |
