Department of the Interior Weakens Migratory Bird Treaty Act Protections
Birds are more than just beautiful to watch—they're vital to our ecosystems and our economy. 96 million Americans engage in birding every year, supporting 1.4 million jobs and contributing nearly $279 billion to the economy. The recent rollback of a key Migratory Bird Treaty Act policy regarding "incidental take" puts over 1,000 bird species at greater risk—at a time when bird populations are already in steep decline.
