Baby Puffling Florence's Big Burrow Debut
Earlier this week, Atlantic Puffin pair Willie and Millie welcomed a new puffling to their burrow under the protection of Audubon's Seabird Institute on Seal Island, Maine. Florence, or Flo for short, is named after Florence Merriam Bailey, a trailblazing ornithologist and activist whose invaluable contributions to the National Audubon Society and field guide publication boosted birding to a previously unreached audience.

Thanks to our partnership with explore.org, bird-lovers all over the world can now catch a glimpse of wild Atlantic Puffins loafing around their favorite ledge or getting cozy inside their rocky burrow. The video installation, which went live on Seal Island in 2013, marked the first time high-definition cameras were used in North America to stream video of Atlantic Puffins and pufflings.

Visit explore.org for a wide variety of wildlife cams, and if you time it right, you just might see a special moment between Flo and their parents.
