Dear KAREN,

Tomorrow is Earth Day, a day to honor and strengthen our resolve to preserve the precious planet we all share. But with more than half of U.S. bird species in decline—including the beloved Golden-winged Warbler and Rufous Hummingbird—we're not waiting to act. Because birds have been telling us that we must take action on climate—and because we have listened—we're already working to create a safer, more hopeful future for birds and for our planet.

Just how many birds we're able to protect depends on the steadfast support from caring bird lovers like you. So please, make your annual donation before midnight while your first gift will be matched, up to $5,000, to go twice as far for birds and the places they need. Your annual gift will renew automatically each year, providing uninterrupted resources our teams can depend on in their work year after year.

This Earth Day, birds are at a tipping point
More than half of U.S. bird species are in decline.
389 North American bird species are at increasing risk of climate extinction.
3 billion birds have vanished in less than a human lifetime.

70 species, including the Golden-winged Warbler and Rufous Hummingbird, have lost 50% or more of their populations in the past 50 years—and are on track to lose another half over the next decades.

Here's the good news: Our efforts give birds a better shot at survival. With more than a century of conservation expertise, we know what it takes to protect birds at risk. And whether we're successfully advocating for climate legislation at the state and federal levels or restoring and improving the resilience of important landscapes, we do it all with your help.

So please, be one of the bird lovers we're counting on to join us with an annual recurring donation this Earth Day while, thanks to a group of generous donors, your first gift will be matched for birds and their habitats.

Sincerely,

National Audubon Society
