We need a few more bird lovers to act before midnight. Will you be one of them, KAREN?

Just a few hours left to have your first annual gift go 2X as far for the birds we love.
Dear KAREN,

If we don't take immediate action, 70 "Tipping Point" species that have already lost 50% or more of their populations in the past 50 years could lose another half or more in the coming decades. This group includes the beloved Rufous Hummingbird—a pugnacious species known for its copper penny coloring.

They're disappearing before our eyes, KAREN: More than half of U.S. bird species are in decline. And of those, 70 species—including the beloved Rufous Hummingbird—have lost 50% or more of their populations in the past 50 years, and are on track to lose another half or more in the next half-century.

Their future depends on you and what we can do together now. Will you do your best for birds in this time of crisis? Be one of the bird lovers we're depending on to make an annual donation before midnight tonight and your first gift will be matched, up to $5,000, to go twice as far for the birds you love.

Birds are at a tipping point
More than half of U.S. bird species are in decline.
389 North American bird species are at increasing risk of climate extinction.
We've lost 3 billion birds in the span of a human lifetime.

With more than a century of knowledge and expertise behind our efforts, Audubon supports policies that provide solutions to these problems. And after 40 years of concerted wetland conservation efforts alongside local chapters, communities, and other NGOs, we're proud to say that waterbird populations remain healthy. From the Everglades to the Central Valley of California, Audubon's efforts and partnerships have made a positive impact.

Now, we're advocating to reduce hazards and threats facing birds, and expanding planning and coordination for bird conservation to replicate these successes with other species. But KAREN, our best efforts depend on you. So please, make your annual donation before midnight tonight and your first gift will be matched, up to $5,000, for birds like the Rufous Hummingbird.

Sincerely,

National Audubon Society
